What to Expect at Hillside...
We enthusiastically invite you to join us at Hillside for worship. When you come to worship, you will find met by caring members who, like you, are seeking God's purpose for their lives.
When you walk in the door at 9 am, you will be offered something to drink and eat. If you like, you can visit with members in the entry hall or enter the Sanctuary and sit at one of our tables.
You will notice that Hillside members are pretty casual--we're a "come-as-you-are" church. Our pastor has even been known to preach in jeans!
Upon entering the Sanctuary you will hear music being played. Sometimes our members share their musical gifts during this opening time.
Around 9:15 the more formal parts of worship begin--usually with some singing and prayers. We have a time with our children and then they are dismissed for age appropriate lessons.
We then read scripture and the pastor preaches about the passage that was read. This is a time to learn about the Bible and to discover how our faith in Jesus can help us be more joyful and fulfilled people.
We conclude our service by praying for others and taking an offering which supports the ministry of the church. Visitors are never requested to participate in the offering. After worship, you can visit with others members.
